Price and location
Was told that I had booked a smoking room but said was a mistake, he said no problem and would change me to a non smoking room but for sure was a smoking room (could smell the smoke and was an ash tray in the room) HOPEFULLY WITH THE NEW UPDATES THINGS WILL IMPROVE AS BEING A MORE PLEASANT STAY
employees weren't very nice, you have to pay for wifi (come on, it´s 2012, but there is a McDonalds next door with free wifi)
Location is a 15min drive out of Burlington, with easy acces to I87. Rooms are updated and clean.
No breakfast, but McD and BK are next door.
If I go to the Vermont Quilt Festival next year, I will stay at the motel again. My room was quiet and clean. There were vending machines and a guest laundry on my floor. The Motel is a short drive from the exposition grounds and St Michaels College. The front desk staff was helpful in giving me directions.
Unfortunately I was ill with a sinus infection when I was staying at the motel. I asked that the linen be changed every day but it was not done. I did notice two ants on the floor in the bedroom.
The motel was clean, quiet and inexpensive. The room was very basic, but comfortable. For a budget place, it was fine.
Staff seemed suspicious of us which was annoying. Room was tiny.
The price and location
The staff didn't look professional; limited linguistic skills; charged $3 for wifi, which didn't work properly (had to type the password every minute or two to access wifi); only coffee was offered in the morning (no tea for people who do not drink coffee)
It was clean, quiet and comfortable for what I needed.
I was there for the vt City marathon, as were most people there that weekend. Normal checkout is noon; I asked for a late checkout and was told the latest they could do was an extra half an hour. I explained that most people won't be finished, let alone able to be back and showered by that time, but they didn't care. They also have a nasty note at the check in desk that if you leave a pet alone in the room (against policy, ok, I understand), they will call animal control to remove the pet. Seems extreme. Not sure how safe the area is at night, they had a security gate that rolls down over the check in desk.
Cleanlioness of the sheets
Room was very clean; bed was comfortable; good assortment of tv channels
Other guests were noisy at inappropriate times. Hotel staff clueless about how to get around locally. Ridiculous "breakfast". A couple of coffee urns with powdered "creamer" and sugar and tiny disposable cups. Horrible. I don't need to eat right away, but I do want a decent cup of coffee without having to get dressed. Either upgrade or get rid of it. There's a great diner across the road. Why not do a promotional tie-in and get the diner to offer a discount for breakfast for Motel 6 guests? They could send down a couple urns of actual coffee and the discount sign every am. Everyone's happy.
Leaving in the morning.
It was an overpriced dirty hotel that capitalizes on a brand name hotel chain. I didn't have high expectations in going there. It was out of necessity because our flight was getting in after midnight and I didn't want to drive the 3 hours home. It was the dirtiest hotel I have ever been in. I slept on a thin towel from the bathroom. We slept and got up and left. I wouldn't even use the shower. Some one should do an inspection and shut them down.
The location fulfilled my needs. Staff was friendly.
No free wi-fi ( $2.99 daily). Rooms were bare bones and pretty "old" feeling - blankets paper thin, no coffee pot, no shampoo, etc, soap was a sliver, no hairdryer ( one was available when requested but I had to go to the desk myself to get it), no clock in room. I admit I did not look closely at description just assumed things would be available.
The rooms were very nice and clean. The Staff was very friendly and kind. The price for my stay was excellent. The pool was nice and clean and a lovely place to take a break. Location was excellent as well, once you got to know the area, we were anywhere from 5,to 20 min's from the things we wanted to do. Over all stay we loved it.
When booking the address I recived for the Motel did not show up on my gps. I ended up going to the wrong exit. The Motel is exit 16 Winooski ,Colchester The floor I was on was a bit roudy, allot of young men, but I guess it's to be expected on summer vacation. But bening a single mum with a young child it made me a bit nervous. But over all we were safe and no one bothered us.
Very smokey entry and lobby
No pet fees, comfortable pillows, spacious bathrooms/showers.
Poor to non-existent customer service. My friends, who had driven 14 hours and had a "guaranteed reservation", were told upon arrival (12:30am) that their reservation had been cancelled and that there was nothing that could be done for them. Management would not agree to any sort of compensation, and essentially told them to take a hike. In addition, upon making a reservation, you are only entered into the system as a one night stay and charged for the one night. I found out about this only after discovering my room key had been deactivated at check out time the morning after my arrival.
